Universal Orlando Resort has announced the closure of its theme parks and CityWalk due to the approaching Hurricane Ian. Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay will be closed on Thursday, September 29, 2023. Universal Resort remains closed today, September 30th, as the hurricane continues its path across the state.

Hurricane Impact on Attractions

Hurricane Ian has caused significant flooding in the area, affecting several attractions at Islands of Adventure. The Incredible Hulk Coaster remains closed due to flooding in some sections of the track. Photos shared on social media also show that part of the track is submerged in water. Additionally, Jurassic Park River Adventure at Islands of Adventure has sustained damage and will be closed for refurbishment in January 2023.
